I am a conservation scientist and advisor to organizations looking to improve approaches to protect biodiversity. My expertise includes grant making strategy, nature conservation, monitoring and evaluation, and organizational development.
I provide marine conservation, strategic review, and other advisory services to foundations and organizations in the environmental, climate and biodiversity sectors. Clients include Arcadia, the Ecological Restoration Fund, TRAFFIC International, Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, Vere Initiatives, David & Lucile Packard Foundation and the Shark Conservation Fund. I work with the team at Climate Philanthropy Advisors to support philanthropic foundations to develop effective strategies and collaborations. I sit on the boards of the funder collaborative Oceans 5 and a partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies to increase ocean protection.
Recent projects include:
- advising a leading funder of nature recovery efforts on emerging global opportunities,
- supporting a non-profit organization to build their marine conservation networks,
- undertaking a landscape assessment of coral conservation and restoration opportunities,
- reviewing the monitoring, evaluation and learning strategy of an international conservation organization,
- scoping area-based conservation resources for a funder collaborative,

I have a DPhil (PhD) in conservation science from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor of Advanced Science from the University of Sydney and am a John Monash Scholar. I speak English and Spanish.
You’ll find me outside as much as possible, scuba diving, kayaking, hiking and exploring.
